VPN Remote Access allows for remote access of internal company resources such as servers and desktop computers (Client VPN). VPN also allows for a secure network connection between 2 different company locations (Site-to-Site VPN).

VPN Stands for Virtual Private Network. This refers to a network in which some of the network devices (Printers, PC's, Servers) are connected using the public Internet, but the data sent across the Internet is encrypted, so the entire network is virtually private.

A Client VPN refers to a VPN configuration were a personal computer or laptop has software loaded that creates an encryption tunnel between the client PC and a private network. This configuration is best used to allow employees, business owners, salesmen, and customers access to your private network from any location over a public Internet connection.

A Site-to-Site VPN refers to a VPN configuration where two or more networks are connected using firewalls. An example of this would be a Site-to-Site VPN connection between a corporate office and one of its satellite locations. The firewalls establish an encryption tunnel between each other over the public Internet network. The firewalls are responsible for encrypting and routing private network traffic across the public Internet.
